  Neurology & Neuro Surgery
Lifeline Multispeciality Hospital's Division of Neurology & Neuro Surgery provides a wide range of services for all types of neurological problems, including epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease. The Division also provides diagnosis and treatment for disorders of higher cortical function, stroke, headache, peripheral nerve disorders and neuromuscular disorders.

Stroke Care
Physicians within the Division of Neurosurgery coordinate the Hospital's stroke response protocol in conjunction with professionals in the Emergency and Radiology departments and the Division of Neurosurgery. A goal of the protocol is to diagnose patients as quickly as possible and, when appropriate, begin treatment with clot-busting medications such as intra-arterial TPA. In addition, a variety of radiologic and surgical therapies are available.

Included within the Division is the Electroencephalograms Laboratory, which provides the following diagnostic services:

Electroencephalograms (EEG) and 24-hour EEG for the evaluation of epilepsy and other diseases affecting brain function,
Electromyograms (EMG) for the evaluation peripheral nerve disorders and neuromuscular disorders, and
Evoked potentials for the evaluation of a variety of nervous system disorders.

All exams are interpreted by board-certified physicians who work with the patient’s primary care physician or other providers to help develop a quality care plan.

  Neurosurgery
The Division of Neurosurgery at Lifeline Multispeciality Hospital provides treatment for patients with a broad range of conditions affecting the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and spinal column. Among the most common conditions are brain tumors, aneurysms, adult hydrocephalus, and back and leg pain.

Physicians within the Division are experienced in advanced surgical procedures and techniques, and are facilitated by computer-directed, stereotactic, and frameless stereotactic equipment; modern intracranial and spinal ultrasound equipment; and modern operating microscopes.

Physicians work closely with neurologists, primary care physicians, oncologists, physical, occupational and speech therapists, and other specialists to ensure an appropriate, multi-disciplinary approach is used in planning treatment for each patient.
