The world heart day was celebrated on 25th September 2009, to mark the completion of nearly 300 pediatric heart surgeries for the children under the "Ilam Sirar Irudhaya Sigitchai Thittam" and Kalaignar Kaaapeetu Thittam", at Hotel Savera, Chennai.

Dr. Prashant Shah, head of the Pediatric Heart Department explained about the various congenital conditions; schematically explaining the corrective procedure done. The children who underwent the surgery came along with the parents.

Mr. Vijayakumar, Collector, Perambalur District, was the Chief Guest, Mr. V.Jagannathan chairman & Managing Director, Star Health & Allied Insurance was the Special Guest of the evening.

The hall was packed with the donors and well wishers who have been supporting the cause of gifting a life to a child.
