FOR YOUR HEALTH- TACKLE YOUR HEARTBURN |
Gastroesophageal reflux disease, commonly referred to as GERD or acid reflux, is a condition in which the liquid content of the stomach regurgitates (backs up or refluxes) into the esophagus.
In this issue, we will try to understand as to how to cope with the heartburn or minimize the reflux.
- Avoid or restrict spicy, oily and fatty foods (basically, anything that’s fun!)
- Drink only 1-2 glasses of water at, and immediately after meals.
Walk for about 15 minutes after dinner- don’t go to sleep immediately after.
- Raising the head-end of the bed will keep down the amount of acid refluxing backwards.
- And- oh… Before I forget… You will do yourself a lot of good by handing away your cigarettes and alcohol (wives please take note!)
- An occasional help with liquid antacid will ease extra heartburn (this is one liquid that your dil should manage more of!)
In the next issue, there will be an enumeration of some new exciting frontier developments in this field, which have brought, enormous relief to thousands afflicted by this much – too – common malady. |

Walking up to a department store's fabric counter, the pretty girl said, "I would like to buy this material for a new dress. How much does it cost?" "Only one kiss per yard," replied the male clerk with a smirk. "That's fine," said the girl. "I'll take ten yards." With expectation and anticipation written all over his face, the clerk quickly measured out the cloth, wrapped it up, then teasingly held it out.
The girl snapped up the package, pointed to the old geezer standing beside her, and smiled, "Grandpa will pay the bill."
