PONDER AND ACT- RESPECT THY SELF!

We are often told to be character oriented instead of reputation oriented,as the character is who we are and reputation is merely what others know us to be.

Then self respect, which is derived, based on what we know of ourselves to be is therefore more valuable than the respect we earn from others.

It can be achieved by admitting our mistakes and making amends for them.

A mistake gets committed by wrong judgment. Adhering to the mistake even upon discovery reflects on our infirmity in character and it will dent our self respect very badly.

If we cannot trust our own selves how can we trust others??

As someone said, be beautiful if you can, Wise if you want to, but respected – you must!

Only if we respect ourselves others will respect us!

Self respect is the corner stone of all Virtues. Self respect is a fruit of self discipline; it grows from ones ability to say no to ones short comings and weaknesses, making one grow in ones own eyes.

The owner of a drugstore arrives at work to find a man leaning heavily against a wall. The owner goes inside and asks his clerk what’s up.

"He wanted something for his cough, but I couldn’t find the cough syrup," the clerk explains. "So I gave him a laxative and told him to take it all at once."

"Laxatives won’t cure a cough, you idiot," the owner shouts angrily.

"Sure it will," the clerk says, pointing at the man leaning on the wall. "Look at him. He’s afraid to cough."
