ACT OF KINDNESS – SPASTIC TRAINING

Daya sagar, Sriram, Hosan, Cicely priya, Pachiappan and Annapoorani are the students from Spastic Society of Tamil Nadu ,Taramani, who are getting trained at Lifeline Hospital, Perungudi.

All of them enrolled in the regular school and up to the primary grade they completed their schooling along with the main stream students. Unable to cope with the regular stream, they dropped out after being isolated, shunned and taunted by others. They joined Spastic Society of Tamil Nadu, Taramani, after being counseled by well wishers.
A new world unfolded! Here they were cared, loved ,taught the way they understood, were made to be more interactive, to take part in sporting activities and were also  made to  pursue hobbies. The spastic society of Tamil nadu, are also working towards rehabilitating them. Lifeline Hospitals has joined hands with Spastic Society of Tamilnadu in this noble endeavour.

Annapoorani at the hospital reception handles telephone  calls as well as greets everyone with a warm and bright smile.

Sriram at pharmacy is able to read the prescription and assist in fetching the medicines from the shelf .

Pachiappan and Dayasagar are office assistants. Pachiappan declares that he prefers serving tea, coffee and snacks rather than fetching files.

Cicely priya and Hosan are assisting in folding the surgical gauze and sheets.

Hosan a dreamer recalls the cricket match he played with his friend Karthik.

Cicely priya though a little physically challenged with pride says that everyone in the surgical unit is appreciative of her work.

All of them were very happy about their work. Sriram and Dayasagar want to work an hour longer.

At the end of the interview when asked, what or whom they liked best at the hospital? They just giggled!

To prompt them to say something, I asked them to try and recall the person they liked most or considered their friend.

The answer I got from them really put me to shame!

They said, ‘it is wrong to say or name a person as your friend as it will hurt others’.
So much to learn from them! To be enthusiastic, to take pride in your work, to be cheerful, warm and loving , to have the drive to do more at  your best and most importantly  to honor others  feelings!

The man approached a very beautiful woman in a large supermarket and asked, 'You know, I've lost   my wife here in the supermarket. Can you talk to me for a couple of minutes?'

  'Why?' she asks.

'Because every time I talk to a beautiful woman, my wife appears out of nowhere.'
