ASK OUR CONSULTANT - YOUR DOUBTS ADDRESSED

There is so much talk about the artificially ripened mangoes, which are being seized and destroyed. What will happen if one consumes artificially ripened mango?

Even in sixteenth century, Akbar, the great, artificially ripened mangoes using blood, saffron etc, mixed in water. (These are the Imam Pasand and Jahangir strain of mangoes) certainly I believe that there are not much difference between naturally and artificially ripened mangoes; at any rate the nutritional difference is not much. Although organically grown food is better, in terms of ripening it does not seem to matter much.

Of late there are so many information available in the net related to all ailments. Sometimes two web sites give contradicting or different information on the same subject. To what extent can a person use this information available for tackling the health problem?

The 'Net' is just a sea of opinion .Each individual man throws his opinion on to the sea. Truth is something arrived at after a lot of scientific deliberation and introspection. Don't confuse opinion with truth. Indeed as written in 'Ponder and Act", the pendulum of science swing from one end to the other .What is true today might not be necessarily be so tomorrow. Therefore use net for information, but discriminate between a wild, off the cuff opinion and the real truth.
