The mental trauma that an obese person is subjected to is one of the worst in nature. It is worse than death itself. Ms. Kavitha (name changed), aged 21 years was on the bulky side right from her childhood. Her weight started mounting gradually and reached a whooping 102 Kg. Her attempt to shed weight with diet and exercise produced only limited result. Though Kavitha did not have any major physical health set backs apart from irregular periods. Her mental health was badly dented. An immediate intervention of some kind was required to prevent her from going into a deep depression. Inspired and influenced by her Mother who underwent this surgery a year ago. Ms. Kavitha at last decided to undergo the Bariatric surgery. It needs a lot of determination to make up one's mind because most people are phobic to surgery. Also because there is no emergency in this case which makes surgery mandatory. Post surgery a visibly excited Kavitha says that she is happy about her decision ,now looks forward to changing her wardrobe in the near future. |
