EDITOR'S NOTE
Dear Readers,
Mark Twain once amusingly quoted; "The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you don't like and also do what you would rather not'. Indeed most of us hold the same perception on health, thus phobic towards the very word 'Health'. Is it difficult to keep healthy???? Just think a little - when you were young you ate all that you liked, you moved the way you wanted- hopped, skipped, jumped, danced and always you were amused and happy, irrespective of your grades in school, incomplete assignment or the other short comings. You were healthy too! Somewhere in the process of growing we started taking life too seriously. So the way to health is not to watch it very closely, but to move, eat and be carefree!! Let health not become an obsession; the first requisite to good health is a certain calculated carelessness about oneself. Isn't it true that even hair appears to be growing very slowly when you closely watch it grow??? I admit that there is a very fine line dividing calculated carelessness and absolute carelessness, as they are relative terms. Ensure you periodically monitor your health status with regular medical and health checkups, for most people die only due to chronic disease which results from poor lifestyle. |
